The Lab
Things you can touch.
Built to be understood
This is where the ideas turn into something you can actually use. Models, simulations, small systems — not demonstrations, but working pieces.

Most of them started as questions that didn't feel settled.

Some things are easier to understand by using them than by reading about them. Most of the pieces here exist because I couldn't quite convince myself I understood something until I built it. If it helps you see it too, that's enough.

McCall Job Search
Decision model · interactive
A model of a simple question: when should you accept a job offer?
You'll get a sequence of offers. Accept one and it's yours. Reject it and wait for the next. It sounds straightforward until you're in it.
The model underneath has a clean answer. The experience of getting there usually doesn't.

Work in progress
There's always something half-built on the bench.
Usually it starts as a small question and turns into a system before I notice.
This space will fill itself.
